Cat About Town - Home Visiting Service

At The Cat Clinic, we understand that visiting the vet can be stressful - not just for your cat, but for you too. From getting them into a carrier, to the journey itself, to the unfamiliar sights and sounds of the clinic, the whole experience can sometimes feel overwhelming.

That's why we're delighted to relaunch Cat About Town - our home visiting service in Edinburgh, previously paused during COVID.

Cat About Town brings veterinary care to your doorstep, allowing your cat to be seen in the comfort and familiarity of their own home. For many cats, this creates a calmer experience and allows examinations to be carried out with less stress and greater ease.

Every home visit is attended by one of our own feline only vets and an assistant, ensuring your cat receives the same high standard of care you would expect at The Cat Clinic.

Services offered at home:

• Complete health checks​ 
• Vaccinations 
• Microchipping 
• Nail trims 
• Blood pressure checks 
• Blood sampling and urine tests 
• End-of-life care

While many services can be provided at home, you can also feel reassured that we have full clinical facilities available at our feline only surgery, The Cat Clinic on Blackford Avenue, should further investigations or treatments, surgery or hospitalisation be required.

Although we can  visit young kittens at home, we feel that a visit to a veterinary clinic early in their lives is an important learning experience, creating a familiarity which will help to reduce anxieties associated with vet visits in the future. For this reason we would suggest our youngest patients still enjoy the adventure of a visit to The Cat Clinic for at least their initial vaccination course.

The Cat About Town, mobile veterinary service is available to clients living within a 3 mile radius of The Cat Clinic.
