We’re proud to have been the first cat-only veterinary practice in the UK. Based in Edinburgh, we’ve been caring for cats and kittens throughout the Lothian area since 1995 in a clinic dedicated entirely to feline patients. Collectively, our vets have over 35 years working in dedicated cat-only care, so there’s very little we haven’t seen before.
At The Cat Clinic, we are committed to providing the highest standard of feline medicine in a calm, cat-centred environment that reduces stress for both you and your companion. Every decision we make is guided by compassion, expertise and a deep understanding of cats’ unique needs.
In September 2024, The Cat Clinic took a significant step in our story by transitioning to an Employee Ownership Trust (EOT). This means that the clinic is now owned by the people who work here, giving our dedicated team a direct stake in its future.
The EOT model reinforces our culture of collaboration, excellence, and compassionate care, while providing stability for the clinic and continuity of service for our clients and their cats. It ensures that our high standards are maintained, and that the people who care for your cats every day are rewarded for their invaluable contributions.

As part of our EOT, Catriona McHardy and Claire Ferries have been elected by their colleagues to sit on the Trust Board. Both experienced vets, they represent the voice of the team and help guide the clinic’s future while ensuring we maintain high standards of patient care, fairness and workplace culture.
