Sometimes the relationship with our cats can be severely tested.
If the new settee didn't have a fringe effect when you bought
it, your cat will soon put that right. Half chewed birds and
mice are strategically placed to take us by surprise and four
o'clock in the morning just is the best time for
a cat to insist on spot of breakfast or be let outside for a
call of nature.
If our partners subjected us to these undesirable habits they
would be ditched faster than you can say "catnip" but what do
we do with our pets? We forgive them. We do this because we
get so much back from them in terms of companionship and enjoyment
and the relationship is unconditional: your cat loves you regardless
of your bad hair day or when you're slumming it in jogging bottoms
and graying, tattered undies.
This section of the website celebrates our relationship with
the cat. We're not going to get heavy on the psychology of the
role that the cat plays in our lives. We're just going to accept
it and have fun!
