Appearance: Angular, long bodied cat with a wedge shaped face and a very short coat. Colour-pointed; light coloured body with darker shading on the extremities.

Temperament: Playful, demanding and intelligent. Can be destructive if not stimulated.

Hereditary Diseases: Hypotrichosis, Periocular leucotrichia, Psychogenic alopecia, Hepatic amyloidosis (see Oriental Shorthair). Nystagmus (rapid side to side flickering of eyes). Pyloric stenosis (failure of stomach to empty properly causing persistent vomiting/regurgitation; requires surgical correction).
